I'm still bummed we never got a fully realized version of World of Violence. Those demos are so fuckin good

We have two great demo albums that were never fully mastered, World Of Violence and Phantasma. But I wonder, which band members were the common denominators for not wanting to release those albums? It’s clear some band members didn’t want to continue to expand the sound from SHTS. Whoever that is should be removed from these constant reunions plans this band returns to

nate wanted to continue the SHTS sound, the rest of the band wanted to make back to oblivion

Fully expect them to publicly break up again in a really messy way with an accompanying 3rd album of demos, only with more inter-band shit talk over X. Jk, being in their 40s with kids they seem to be in a more stable state now and the new songs shred

Nate should find a different fuckin' band then

"Nightmares make these scars
A stomach's bloody hole"
The shriek in this part is in the pantheon of greatest fucking screams I've ever heard and I think of it often.

The screams at the end of hopeless host slowly became my fav climactic moment of the album. Reminds me of For Miles by Thrice in a way, just an absolute detour into raw chaotic beauty to end both tracks
I think the sign of a truly great album is a revolving list of favorite songs and sections over the years. It’s honestly been revolving for me since I bought the CD at Walmart cuz I remembered they were the Madden band lmao

For sure that's a good sign. I remember how bitter a pill it was to swallow when this came out, because boy do I fuckin' hate What it is to Burn. Never saw it coming.

Couldn't agree more, Tgreenz. Hopefully we'll get a new album from them this year. They said they were writing a new on over the summer and we know they're sitting on a few songs already.

Yeah a new album would be sick, they’ve teased us for a decade with new stuff and the one full album we got just wasn’t the creative direction I’d hoped for (like this album or a lot of the demos that have released)
New good music from finch is a huge W if it ever happens, if not I’m just happy I get to enjoy the great work they released like this album. Me commenting here 20 years after release is a good indicator of how much I am indeed enjoying this album hahaha

Tbh I know this band basically hates eachother so I’m not getting my hopes up lol. Nate’s creative direction is pretty evident on this album, especially when you hear the two demo releases and who wrote each demo (mainly Nate on the one I really prefer)

They’re old farts like me now though so I don’t even blame the other band members for wanting to cash in on that what it is to burn cash cow
