it's all about the feeling he uses, they're not super technical or anything but you have to get the funk groove to make

them sound as good as he gets them to sound. and Funky Monks is gonna be next to learn, then I Could've Lied. Hell, I'm

just gonna learn how to play the whole album eventually if I can

@rowan - frusciante had/has a ton of technical ability but for the most part (especially on this, cali, btw) took a real 'less is more' approach... the beauty is in the simplicity of his playing and how it locks in with the bass

so yea basically playing along is so much fun cos you can just get deep in the groove and go hard
