i must say, it is funny to see GD fans hate Father of All as if that is not how GD have always sounded to their detractors

I've been out of touch with Green Day since 21stCB so i tried listening to a few new songs to see what the buzz is about and i gotta say i'm a bit puzzled.
I bought American Idiot back when i was a teenager, it was a nice album, it's not on my all time favorites list but it was okay, i remember checking out Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network, also "meh it's okay". They've always been this "okay" band.
So i'm surprised with the amount of hate their new shit is getting, it just sounds like a continuation of whatever they've been doing for the past two decades. Aside from the cringy self referential album cover, the fact that they fudged the album purposely and writing these types of lyrics in their 40s.... it just sounds like a slightly more pop version of what they've always sounded like mixed in with ipod commercial music, but i mean it still sounds like your average Green Day.
I'd give this a 2 but that's personal bias since their music isn't really my cup of tea, it's objectively a 2.5 easily, same goes for "the trilogy". That's just the sound of a band who settled for a style after years of experimentation and now finds little to no need for variation or breaking into new grounds.

Love me some Green Day, but this album is still a massive hunk of shit imo. Hopefully the new album is at least somewhat of a course correction, although the singles are a bit... mixed, I'd say
Dilemma's pretty good though, and it's cool hearing the band experiment with a different tuning for once
