I kinda agree petition honestly gets too much "this is overlooked" half the tracks are mediocre
WFCC is far better.

Petitioning will forever only have one song that holds the other ok tracks (compared to what they made after) up in reverence'
What the fuck is this madness?

Honestly I love all that early stuff more than much of the latter (which I still have many as of 4s and 5s) not particularly because its 'better' but I just love the early converge metalcore stuff. Memories I guess. Yeah Poacher diaries is killer, WFCC I adore too. Every track on Petitioning KILLS for me.

Nightstalkers and Lights on the Hill are great for sure. The other songs are monotonous, although they have their moments.

Poacher Diaries is great, you just have to skip half the record (the Agoraphobic Nosebleed tracks, lol). I just see it as a Converge EP. Have to disagree with any PTES negativity, the whole thing slays, yeah The Saddest Day is one of their GOAT songs, but it doesn't overshadow the remainder by any means. Bloody love Converge, ALL Converge up to and including AWLWLB, 'Dusk' just feels like a poor imitator of their modern 'accessible' sound.
Back to this and I'm not sure how anyone can call it monotonous, it's a diverse record that traverses a ton of ground, perhaps it covers said ground too slowly (because you lack patience), but if you're wanting immediate hooks, or lack the attention span to get sucked into the atmosphere then I guess this isn't for you, your loss.

And honestly if these are anyone’s true complaints they’re listening to the exact wrong genre anyway

Yeah, blaming post-metal for being too slow is like blaming thrash for going too fast

I don't have any problem with slow builds, I really enjoy 10+ min tracks. In fact, I prefer 10+min tracks, but no an entire album of the same vibe.
Their best tracks are way better than worst ones and I find them very similar, like "demos" of the better ones.
I enjoy a lot of CoL tracks but not a top band for me.
I have added nightwalkers and Lights on the hill in my CoL playlist but this is not a record that I will never return to.

Something monotonous does not have to be slow. Demon puts words in my mouth that I've never said.
