"Tool still wrongly think they're some proggy post-rock/post-metal type of band"
Yeah, they're so much better than that frankly.

....No, they really aren't. Not based on this anyway. They're pretty decent though, I'll give you that. They used to be brilliant.

This is a masterpiece. Never been more sure if anything in my life. And I don’t tods that word around lightly. I have a hard time grasping how someone could dislike this — or more like, how they could not see how accomplished it is, even if it’s not to their tastes.
People are actually calling this boring LOL. Are you an 8 year old child who can’t sit still for more than five minutes?

I Have the exact same problem understanding how anyone could call it a masterpiece or groundbreaking its as obvious to me as it is to you

"People are actually calling this boring LOL. Are you an 8 year old child who can’t sit still for more than five minutes?"
Oh that old tired, lazy comment.
I'm sure I speak for many when I tell you there are countless 10-20-minute songs that are far more interesting than the likes of Pneuma or Culling Voices or Invincible. Songs that build, evolve, rock out, present gorgeous melodies.
The songs listed above aren't bad; in fact, they're pretty decent! And I wouldn't call them outright boring myself, but they certainly aren't pushing the envelope or bringing anything new to the table. THey're just...fine. I mean, I remember 3 or 4 minutes of Pneuma (otherwise a decent song!) where it's simply padding. No tension building, no melodies emerging... it just trundles along for a bit in the middle.
I'm glad you're loving it, but, if I can be as bold and presumptuous as you were with your "if you find this boring, you must be a child" comment, I could counter by saying "If you think this is innovative or a masterpiece, you can't listen to much music".

Also did the riff for Jambi just get dumped in by mistake during the mixing process? Sure I heard it pop up at least twice.

Tool have three riffs in constant recycle FACT
Also they use a revolutionary keyboard preset for all the drums

Those who are complaining about the cover artwork obviously didn’t get the CD bundle. Taken as an entire package — the cover, the video that plays when you open (it’s fucking insane btw), the 36 page booklet, pictures on the inside, the artwork on the CD itself etc.
This wasn’t just some shoddy rush job. This was obviously highly thought through and constructed. Probably my 2nd favorite album art after Lateralus — Third is probably 10k Days.
