They absolutely are.
imo the only djent band that really went somewhere that Sikth didn't already cover on The Trees and DOADD is Tesseract, and all they REALLY did was add a heavy dose of Tool.
I admit though that describing these bands in such a reductive way is unfair. I think I just took it personally when I watched Sikth drop those two amazing albums and get no credit, then Misha comes along on youtube and kids lose their minds.
