Absolutely, this needs to be put to bed. I've heard people collectively bash on each era whether or not they prefer one or the other singer. In laymen terms it's 80's Iron Maiden; you can't go wrong with any record, really. Everyone has their favorites, I like Bruce more, but that doesn't really mean anthing when I'm listening to this. I couldn't picture it any other way without Dianno.

His rough punky singing style really suits the material, songs about stabbings and backstreet whores and..erm..prowlers and murders in the rue morgue (Bruce trying to sing rue morgue is comedy). Not much range but Remember Tomorrow has some decent lung blasts in there.



Bruce is obviously technically a much better singer (archetypal metal singer) and all that though, their music seemed to change to suit him.

Why would i give up my opinion lol. I don't like it, i'm not about to change my opinion because YOU like Di'Anno. How silly would that be ?

I'm not asking you to stop liking the crap Di'Anno sings, to each his own. I just find it silly when people compare Dickinson to him and say he's the reason the band got so succesful when it's not true. The reason they got so successful is that they're very talented and ditched the awful singer they had in their first albums...

It's not like he wrote the songs or anything... Steve Harris is the reason Maiden is what it is. Di'Anno has contributed to a grand total of ... 3 songs lol.

Dickinson ? only 52.

And he's also the reason Maiden managed to come back after the Bailey debacle. He wrote a lot of great songs for Brave New World and if you check his great solo albums, you'll see how he wrote even better songs than in Maiden (along with Adrian Smith).



But yeah, Di'Anno "ruled" lmao. I'll admit, i never saw them live with Di'Anno...but then again, neither did most of the people commenting here.

@Titan: Hey, it's alright ;) as i've said already, there's a reason this is a 3 for me and not a 1. The albums are still pretty damn good. I just happen to hate Di'Anno as a singer which kinda kills em for me. My point is he just happened to be there in the beginning of a great band.
