You say this as if hip-hop doesn't have other dimensions just like any other genre of music

siex is spot on

Yeah Follow God is genuinely good (tho it has some of the worst mixing), every other song is a hard 1/5 for me

I'm saying that if there's any genre where "the lyrics ruin it for me" is a completely valid criticism then it's hip-hop. Like it's nice if it sounds pretty or whatever, it's not illegitimate to like it because of that, but it's hilarious to me that anyone would suggest that people who don't like it for the lyrical content are being somehow unreasonable.

kanye was always a bad rapper, who tf are you tryna fool, mofos you always knew fucker can't rap. I think the disgusting production, the hilarious lyrics, the kenny mf G ft. and the overall whacko almost outsider nature of the project give the record genuine charm, something most of his projects sorely lack.
i think JiK and KSG are the only Ye projects i can get behind, tbh.

actually I misspoke I love that beat on On God, shit slaps. he should have just given all these beats to Pusha or Cudi
|

kenny g feature slaps. it’s an entertaining record, even tho Kanye’s still a lunatic. It’s honestly pretty in line with Christian doctrine which I find surprising as hell.
|
| |
Yea I wasnt expecting that sax solo since i went into this blind without checking the features

i guess you can think both are bad but it is ridiculous to imply there is no structural differences between his lyrics/flow here and the way he was on the college dropout
