The production is very busy, but it's also flattened and two dimensional. Cramming multiple elements together is only intricate in the literal sense. Good production plays to the strength of all elements of a song and allows it to breath and then hit hard when it needs to.
Anyway, long story short, there's no debate that Humanz has the worst production of the 4 albums. What's most surprising is that Albarn was able to basically self-produce Plastic Beach and have it compete with two GOAT producers, Automator and Danger Mouse.
