And still Load is horrible compared to pre-Black material.

Well as you could tell from the ratings I've given on Metallica's albums (only MoP and AJFA get 5's from me) I'm no fanboy, and I don't jump in bandwagons and say something is good or bad because everyone else seems to,so I guess I'm not too much of a trendy person at all.Its far from brilliant but its not that terrible. The album, that is.

I used to like this, I don't recall why. If I hear it nowadays I keep it on cuz it makes for a good chuckle

have I already said that this was the VERY FIRST album I bought myself? man, I regretted it - I didn't manage to listen to the whole damn thing in one go for two years or something like that. it's almost a miracle I didn't stop being interested in music afterwards.

good review but by far metallica's worst album i've only heard 3 songs from it but i honeslty doubt i could listen to all of it seeing as the snare drum (is that a fucking trash can) drove me crazy after only those 3 songs.

More or less the same snare sound was used for the song 'I Disappear' but noone complained then. This is a great album in its own right, just as Load and ReLoad were (this is better than both of them, though IMO), but AARGH when compared to their early stufff it just pales. I try not to compare it, helps to enjoy it more, which i do.This Message Edited On 12.12.08

Hrm, I guess the fact that they did a song for a big movie caused bigger grumbles then, my apologies. This Message Edited On 12.13.08
