Also sometimes you never know before you date someone. There's a lot to people. Sometimes it takes a long time to get to know them. Sometimes it takes a lot longer to find out you don't work together.

Sounds like you wasted 17 years on something that clearly wasn't working. Maybe you should have broken it off far sooner.

"Blood Incantation thread is now a rose tinted glasses memories of good relationships thread gj guys"

If we want to go into good relationships that's a whole different story. I've had two good relationships in my life. The one I'm currently in, and my previous. My previous girlfriend was a stripper with a lot of ambitions. We ultimately didn't work out because I'm far more recluse. But it was an eye-opening experience, learning that my healthiest relationship until that point was built on trust and honesty with a sex worker, as opposed to the distrusting relationships I'd had with far more tight-wound women before.

Honesty is key.

I've always liked my solitude. I've never gotten on well with most people. I'm 24 and I do my best with a single partner whom I trust. I have my dog, my cat and my significant other.

I tried a two year period of being a "bachelor" but I did not like the lifestyle. Seeing multiple women in such a short time made me feel lonelier than I've ever felt.

Considering the way I've grown up, I've always had an "old man" kind of attitude to my life.

I'm not really out in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. I lead a pretty normal life. I just don't talk to people when I do it.

nah man I respect it, you aren't trying to be someone you're not.
Solitude is an almost foreign concept to many people

My ex left me because she made me choose between her and Satanism, ofc i made a choice after myself. She insisted that it breaks her inner self and that our love is demonic and i drain her spiritualy. She was crazy type after all. I am not joking, in fact this is very unusual situation for me. And thats after 2 hot years and crazy love. You cant really predict women, it doesn't work that way.
