this whole conversation is trash, so let me simplify everything. The guys in Periphery are all very, very fucking talented. The guitarists are arguable some of the best in the genre. Production quality is always top notch. The songwriting is even pretty good. But Spencer often sounds like a nasally whiny little girl and his lyrics aren't always that great. Guaranteed, 100%, that people wouldn't give Periphery this much shit if he just did screams the whole time. Again: extremely fucking talented band. Vocals just annoy some people.

Honestly, while P2 is still my favourite Periphery album, I feel like they've improved, particularly in the songwriting department, from album to album.

I've got The Way The News Goes in my top 10 Periphery tunes. But then again, I'm biased in favour of any riff written by Holcomb. If instagram is any clue he might even have re-recorded Pale Aura for the new album and might be finally using that EPIC jamup bias riff for a song.

I see what you mean about Alpha Shido but there is simply no filler there, every song fits into a specific part within the context of the story the Juggernaut albums are trying to tell, if a song was cut a chapter of the story would be lost
