Just relistened to Dick Down and it still sucks

Dig Down honestly sounded a lot better live, but I won't go out of my way to listen to it

Dig Down is just... It's terrible. I don't understand why they thought it would be good, especially as the lead single for the new album.

I downloaded this today, not listenened yet but hoping it's better than the 1.5 I awarded 'The Resistance'.

The Resistance gets a lot of shit, and it's a shame because there is some okay material there. Drones is better though, yes.

The production on The Resistance knocks it down a peg or two, perhaps it'd be at least average with solid production... the guitars sound so lifeless & thin that any decent riffs were completely negated. Having said that I was a big Muse fan at the time of release & perhaps my disappointment contributes to my judgement.

I honestly really like The Resistance

Strangely I love the guitar work on The Resistance. The Guiding Light guitar solo is fucking spectacular.

That solo is so good, and I love the guitar work in MK Ultra

The Resistance shits on the two albums after it... easy.

The Resistance is their weakest album (though still pretty good) and "Guiding Light" is possibly their worst song.
The title track on that album is top 15 Muse though, maybe even top 10. Have always had a soft spot for "Undisclosed Desires" too

Every song except Guiding Light and I Belong To You on the Resistance is class. The 2nd Law and Drones have far more meh songs and straight up stinkers.

The Resistance has 2 good songs, maybe. I'll have to check...

The Handler through to & definitely including the 'Jon Bon Jovi-esque ballad' Aftermath is downright awful, in fact I was literally laughing to myself during Revolt - has to be a candidate for worst Muse song.
There are brief, fleeting moments of reprieve, 'Reapers' is solid, decent riffage not seen much from these guys lately, 'Dead Inside was begging me to hate it but I can't because it's actually not terribly written & sort of catchy. And at least The Globalist tries (& at times succeeds) in creating something vaguely interesting.
I take it the 2nd Law has equally hilarious results? If I'm going to sully my childhood memories further & put myself through another bad Muse album, it should at least be amusingly bad, maybe.

Uprising was a way to fucked up a tradition of the first single of the album being amazing. Check it out
Showbiz: Uno
OoS: New born
Absolution: time is running out
BH&R: supermassive black hole

Yeah, those are good Muse, Uprising is bad Muse if I remember correctly

I think the Resistance is a great album, Drones isn't half bad either. The 2nd Law was laughable minus Animals.

If I go by your standards & proportion those opinions to mine then The 2nd Law to me would be the worst album in the history of mankind, haha. I know music doesn't work like that in reality.

The 2nd Law gets a lot of hate and some of it really isn't justified. Supremacy could easily be a kickass Bond opener, Animals is fantastic, and Save Me/Liquid State are great if only just to see Chris on vocals. It's not a great album, but hardly as terrible as most make it out to be.

Big Freeze is some ridiculous U2 shite but I'll be damned if the vocals aren't stellar.
