Both of them are great and would be the best song on either GN or Altogether

If they could make a whole album of songs like Humblest Pleasures then they’d be back on top again

Goddamn has this band devolved since this release. From catchy dream pop inspired punk and alt rock to elevator music in just five years.

Why'd you have to remind me Pajolero

Altogether is underrated tbh. It has some lame tracks but it also has Still in Motion, Valley of the Moon, and Temporary Love. I love those tracks just about as much as anything on PV.

still in motion and sending me right back are cool but i cannot for the life of me remember what either valley of the moon or temporary love sound like haha. tbh i don't remember what over half of the songs on that album sound like and i have listened to it a fair amount of times

Butt I think we are the only ones who like Altogether lol.
Still in Motion, Much After Feeling, Number On The Gate, Valley Of The Moon, Plant Sugar, Temporary Love. All great imo lol. I think most people heard Parties one time and decided the whole thing was bad and shit all over it.

Parties is great, its Number On the Gate that's a massive snoozer for me. Overall, Altogether was aighttt. Better than Good Nature I think.
And yes please to a full album of Humblest Pleasures

I like Parties too. Just seemed like most people hated that song the most for whatever reason.

parties just has the worst lyrics lol like how do you go from peripheral vision to like 'parties are stupid but damn girl you kinda hot yum yum i don't mind parties now' in the span of 4 years :/

rare to see a band peak so highly and then fall off a cliff
usually they'll make an arguable classic, something around the 3.8 range and then settle in as a perennial 3.5-3.6 band

Lol damn Jesper.
I guess why I don't hate those lyrics because their super relatable for people like my girlfriend and I who deal with anxiety, depression and are super introverted. Simple things like going to parties do feel paralyzing and it is fucking difficult to have conversations with random people there. It feels like everyone is looking at you and judging you even if logically you know that everyone is having a good time and doing their own thing.
I dunno, I just find the lyrics on that whole album to be super inoffensive. It's just full of lyrics about every day life and it's not meant to be super deep and I kinda dig that it's simple in that way.

I think what he was saying was it's more about the potential they have and what we have already seen. It's not a bash against simple or fun lyrics.

Oh I know, I didn't think he was bashing it lol. Just giving the flip side of the coin I guess. He thinks they're stupid and explained why. I think they're simple and relatable and explained why.

yeah no fair enough bandit! can def see how they can serve a purpose/not be considered bad by some haha. i just wish that austin would find like a slightly more creative way of putting things i guess? cuz damn that song is blunt compared to the smooth nice metaphors on here
