Stoked because the only tracks I haven't heard yet are Relapse and Monochrome (Pensive).

Fuckers at Benchmark also changed the digital download date from today to the 15th. Now I gotta hope for a leak from another source.

Nevermind. Answered my own question. I'd love to get my hands on this in advance though. Can't wait to hear.

320 downloaded and ready for tonight!

I was on Kingdom-Leaks asking when it would be ready, and the dude leaking it told me just picked it up and was putting it on. Ready a few minutes later. God bless them.

Guys I hate to be "that guy" again, but if any of you smoke, (then this'll be of no surprise to you) this album is even better than Language. It's so pretty and layered and interesting. Wonderful mixing.

'That guy' bears a suspicious resemblance to most serious Contortionist fans...

Coincidence, I'm sure.

I jammed this on the way home today, forgot how stellar the production is. I love how the crunch on the bass is prevalent when needed, but then will fade into that typical, deep, warm, resonating sound. Drums are killer as well.

bass tones def benefit from a 320 listen vs 128

They're the first to go when compressing, along with the uber high frequencies as well.

The new album is sounding better in 320. This band fulfills my want for more Cynic-esque music more than anything else, sounding a lot like Traced in Air meets Tesseract or Periphery.

Monochrome (Pensive) is so heavenly, probably my favorite on there.

Talons, do you think you'll be reviewing Clairvoyant? If so, I probably won't bother.

I wasn't planning on it but maybe. You should still go for it tho even if a staffer reviews it.

Eh, I usually only do reviews for stuff I really enjoy that doesn't already have a review.

My main motivations are writing practice and hopefully getting some exposure out there for stuff I find worthwhile to listen to.
