Seeing them in brooklyn for the farewell tour and trying to give this album another shot and it's dope. Controller is one of my fav albums ever and I love malice and mirrors. For whatever reason my baby ass at the time listened maybe for a few months and forgot about it.

this was such a weird album. It's a direct continuation of Controller but proggier and it takes more listens to take in. It's less immediate, and the drama with the band really cast a negative light over it. In retrospect I think it was a great follow-up to Controller even if it's not as emotionally affective

Bummed Karl isn't on the new album because he sounds like a demon on these tracks. At the show, its apparently their farewell  but both Jesse and Karl are performing their respective shit. So Jesse for malice and new shit and Karl for controller, mirrors, absent light. It's going to be fun af
