This is good but if I compare it Geo then it really doesn't hold up that well. I feel like I need to be under the influence of something (or at least in a very particular mood) to fully get lost in this, whereas Geo (and to a lesser extent MHTRTC) pulls me in every time and never lets go. So for me it's basically the opposite to what zak said a page or two back.

Heard it, rated it, got it on vinyl ;)

Nothing grabs me like Geo, it's one of my favourite albums of all time. In comparison this is just some good ambient electronic and that's it.

Geo is their best release in their 'mature' discography for sure.

agreed if you just fully include mhtrtc in on that

Geogaddi creates a overall atmosphere better than MHTRTC imo, you can tell tracks like Open the Light and Smokes Quantity were not written for the same release. I don't actually think the latter shouldve been on MHTRTC at all, the bleak nature of the track doesn't belong on that album, it belongs on Twoism.

Ofcourse it's not, An Eagle in Your Mind also proves that. Dark tracks can fit well, Smokes Quantity sounds more bleak than dark to me. Don't get me wrong, I love the track, it's probably one of my favourites from Twoism. I just can't help feeling like it really shines on that release instead.

its rly clear mhtrtc is basically just a comp of old songs like telephasic workshop and sixtyten and stuff sound so out of place lol

nothing is real is the most stunning thing

Twoism isn't a consistently great release, but it definitely has some standout tracks. also agreed on the comp thing Kman. Sixtyten is an incredible piece of music, that thumping percussion is so heavy.I'll stop talking about non-TH things on a TH thread now.

idk it's just so out of place on mhtrtc, kinda like palace posy is on here. it's a pretty good standalone track tho for sure

i think it has a pretty similar sound palette to some of the other songs. especially like rue the whirl and happy cycling. idk ive never really thought of it as dark of bleak like you guys were saying that track is so peaceful to me

oh fuck, i was thinking about rue the whirl this whole time lol. nah smokes quantity is cool

i guess i can kind of see it with rue the whirl just cause that sound they use for the melody where it repeats that crescendo doesn't really sound similar to anything else they use on the album but its never struck me as notably out of place

it's also pretty jarring coming right after the aesthetically similar trio of kaini industries, bocuma and roygbiv
