Basically how I feel about TSOP. This has plenty of wow moments for me.

it just always seemed like an average, everyday metal record.
metal is such a vast genre. this really doesn't say much of anything tbh. even if it did i'd disagree, i can't think of any albums that really sound like this one

"I just feel like chuck had more passion in him when he wrote that album and you can feel it in the music, like he might have gotten a bit carried away at points but overall I think that album definitely serves as a better end point for death
also I think its a way more consistent album, each song is like a mini epic of its own"

Agree with 5leavesleft. Really good prog-death album, never been able to "connect" with this as with HUMAN or ITP (easily Death best two albums.)

idk this feels like one really long prog rock death metal album, none of the songs really stand out except for like 1 or 2 but even they just feel like more distinct parts of one huge song
