I use to love Quake single player but I agree live was shit. Nothing about Halo 2 sucked that's nonsense. Halo 3 was good too but Reach was a disaster.

Quake 4 is what i play the most, sadly the qmax update came rather late, everyone stayed in 1.0 where the game lacks speed and gun balance (the rail gun is overpowered).
most of the railers from 1.0 got their ass handed over when i brought them to play on spontan games and 1.4 duels, funny stuff. lots of raging.

im having high hopes for Doom 4.
problem is that ID takes forever to finish a game nowadays, i wanted to play Rage but this pc wont handle that beast.

every cod campaign ive ever played has been terrible, but i actually find that the black ops multiplayer is enjoyable to some extent. also world at war was a horrible game but the original 4 nazi zombie maps are incredibly fun

I can name a few.
1) Campaign was challenging and long I didn't finish it in 5 hours
2) H2 basically paved the way for multiplayer match making games today
3) Playing system link tournaments with a bunch of friends is basically the most fun thing ever
4) 90% of the maps are enjoyable to play on
5) Had the best ranking system in any game. Fuck all that COD prestiging bs.

yea, i didnt like how the game looks and it seems kinda boring. but some of the guys that play quake with me gave it a try and they actually liked it so im curious.
but i miss the old FPS with that 'find the exit to the next level' logic.
