I think the length works on here. It helps that there is not really a weak moment

It's so loooooong. It's alright, some inspired moments.

this was one of my all-time favorite albums a few years ago, but at some point I think I realized that I like Dead Cities, Before the Dawn Heals Us, and Saturdays = Youth more. it's kind of a weird feeling revisiting it now.

I take it he didn't release anything like 'Dead Cities' again? I dig that one. Dude seems to be a lot more pop-orientated these days but no idea what some of the stuff in-between sounds like.

Was everything after Dead Cities poppier, or was it more of a transitional thing than a sudden change?

hmm good question, i think there was a transition and dead cities was his most "out-there" psychedelic-y record but i think it was more-so a conscious effort on to be a bit more accessible with this album yeah, though i think he did it without losing his sound and that for sure

if you like dead cities check out before the dawn at least, it's not as consistent as dead cities IMO but the highlights are even bigger, the closer is his best song IMO

Cool, thanks. 'Before the Dawn' it is then.

I didn't realise this guy had gotten 'semi-popular' until the other day when I saw an M83 track on a playlist (behind the bar at a pub as it happens) & everything else on the list seemed like it would be reasonably well known. They'd named it something like 'indie party' but this stood out as being relatively obscure compared with the other stuff.
