i agree with what you're saying about pitchfork honestly. Honestly every review I've ever read by them is incredibly well written, and still somehow comes off as condescending. When I picture what the writers of pitchfork look like I honestly see a bunch of nerdy hipsters with Pavement shirts and big glasses

i dont find them condescending either thats retarded. pretentious yeah wordy yeah terrible sometimes but usually pretty interesting plus sometimes they produce absolute gold (lateralus review omfg)

Yeah, I really enjoy Pitchfork's reviews. They seem like they sucked hard back in the day but they've really stepped it up since

And to be fair, they did have a Top 50 Metal Albums of 2011 list. Not saying that's one of their main genres but they do seem to at least pay a bit of attention to it these days
