And that's saying something because my dick is at least average size

of your love and the cut of the knife
the tireless oppression, the wisdom instilled

Yeah, check Aqualung. Then listen to Minstrel in the Gallery, which is sort of a mix of this and Aqualung.

^ yeah TAAB is pretty unique in their discog, but those would be the closest. Songs from the Wood and Heavy Horses after that.

Compositionally A Passion Play is easily the closest to Thick as a Brick.

Obviously there are some distinct musical differences between the two though.

I agree with JT

A Passion Play lacks the focus of Thick as a Brick, and is quite quirky. APP definitely needs sometime in your ears, and it pays off.

"still dont know how it was received so badly when it was released back in 73"

I can kinda see why. I mean it took the whole tongue-in-cheek parody of prog to a whole other level at a time when prog was probably taken more seriously by critics than it was later on. I feel like a lot of critics were of the opinion that Anderson was trying to create a coherent masterpiece or something and didn't take it for what it was.

i don't really see how it couldn't be at least a little enjoyable even though if the concept wasn't grasped or cared for.
