i can kinda hear grizzly bear but only in places

the closest i'd say is manchester orchestra, particularly their first album, mixed with some plans-era death cab for cutie and then other additional influences

The more I listen to this, the more I'm convinced it's about an abusive relationship rather than about a guy falling in love with a woman in a hospice

It definitely is. Almost certainly. I used to really dislike to think of the concept in regards to that, I guess I loved the surface-story too much; but once you realise that, the metaphor's and lyrics in general reach a new level. Especially if you've ever gone through anything similar, Silberman is at his best here.

It has taken a long time but this has become my favorite from these guys. It's absolutely devastating. Could bump again to a 5

Could i like this? Indie Rock is one of those genres that i never liked, but boy do i love Post Rock.

i think so, this is really slow burning and post-rocky. devastating af, i'm suggesting to follow the lyrics

Don't think it's instantaneous, more a grower - but the lyrics are the best bit of the album. Their entire discog is worth checking for usre

It is a massive grower and best to jam when you're not 100% okay. The lyrics are so powerful and you'll not find many songs as cathartic as Wake

Takes a second to sink in yeah, but this album is heart wrenching

all the while we’ll know we’re fucked, and not getting unfucked soon

I love how this album is basically a rock opera for people who are really fucking sad

In your dreams I am a criminal, horrible sleeping around. While awake, I'm impossible, constantly letting you down...

I've witnessed people close to me go through emotionally abusive relationships and this hits the nail right on the head!
