k my opinion on the new album has gone down a lot. im sick of them reusing the same bag of tricks over and over again! for a ridiculous example of how they literally reuse exactly the same sound, go to 0:57 in Legend, 1:19 in Nostalgia and 1:46 in Unseen Harbor. literally the IDENTICAL guitar sound, technique and exactly the same melody being introduced through the right channel in the same way to initialise a crescendo every time. i can stand it up until it happens in Unseen Harbor, then i just start to get annoyed. seriously skip to those times and see for yourself. it's laughably bad.

agreed

not to mention all the climaxes are so anti-climactic that it ruins just about every song here

nostalgia is probably the best one but it's still nothing special

i thought i'd be satisfied with it as long as it was pretty but it couldn't even manage that to any real extent :[

i still think the new album is good, but nothing more than that. each individual song is fantastic. they just all use the exact same ideas.

well dammit didn't even know the new album came out today until like 10 minutes ago. Listened to Dream Odyssey and was blown away. Don't really care if they release the same album over and over again because they rule at what they do. I mean if people don't give Amon Amarth a lot of shit for releasing the same stuff for close to 20 years, then fans of this band should not care as much as they do.

kind of wish battle to heaven was left off this. it doesnt really fit with the rest of the album and kind of kills momentum before the finale.

seeing them in a few weeks. they havent played anything from any albums before this in a while. gutted because walking cloud is their best album and i'll never see halcyon or lost snow live. will still be great though im sure.

edit: scratch that. according to setlist.fm theyve been playing moonlight and sabbath here and there.
