what's more annoying/asinine to me is people hating Nirvana because they were/are popular, etc. don't get me wrong, I think the band was overrated, and this album is astronomically overrated/over-stated, but it's still a great album

they were a great band and this record was a really big deal when it came out. It just hasn't aged all that well.

In Utero and Bleach hold up fine, but for me this album is wayyyy too clean/poppy sounding for a grunge album, like it knows how popular it is.

to me, some of it does sound dated. i started listening to this not long after it came out, along with the other Seattle bands, and this doesn't hold up as well as aic or soundgarden.

the whole dated/outdated thing with music doesnt sit well with me most of the time. everything becomes a little dated at some point. music is a snapshot in time when it was made. just gotta put yourself into the mindset of the time a little bit. this sounds like an early 90s grunge/alt rock album and thats fine with me nicca.

yeah but when I listen to other bands from that period, I don't get nostalgic. when i listen to this, all I can think about is what I was doing at age 11.

and thats bad? nostalgia is awesome.

did you listen to nirvana more than the other bands? i mean they were just more popular in general so they're nostalgic for everybody really even if you didnt like em.

i prefer to look at this as just a simple, fun mainstream rock record with a bit of an alt/punk aesthetic. really not much grunge about this

nah. Like I said, I don't get nostalgic when I listen to aic, megadeth, pantera or a lot of other bands I listened to in the early

90's.
