my best bud and i have been in like a 5 year argument regarding which is better, still life or this.

i prefer still life and, like most heavy-duty metalheads on here, he likes mayh...

my username is probs much worse MO.

the only reason I have still life at 4.5 is cuz it lags in a few places. overall, I love the atmosphere and every single song. but there are moments where it just feels like it's not going anywhere.

other than that it's pretty much perfect.

the part in karma where he does a nice high right into an evil growl an the heavy section which follows is one of the best on the album

yea but thats a 1 minute song that is used mainly to feed as a stark transition into amen corner so it serves its purpose well

I don't love this album because it's heavy duty metal. I mean, it is pretty m/, but that's not the best part about it.

the best part imo is the unbelievable atmosphere it creates. it's suffocating and evil. but it has beauty too, and some incredibly beautiful moments. the environment this record takes you to is unreal.

The main problem I have with it is that it repeats when I think they could have had it only play once and it would've been more effective.

When did I say I watched Gungrave?

Btw the phrase I used to describe your taste in japtoons wasn't "terrible", it was "total shit".

at base: Still Life > MAYH for me, but the atmosphere in both albums is amazing.

Something they never quite had in the next albums.
