I’ve always passively enjoyed Depeche Mode, basically never venturing past the singles, so I sat down and listened to their discography and it’s just…. Unf. One of my new favorites, this album is immaculate. So dark and moody but so damn catchy

Best driving at dusk album! I like Policy of Truth the most, Halo has bone chilling vibes but the chorus doesn't click with me. Enjoy the Silence doesn't ever get old somehow, I appreciate that quality in a (synthpop) song. I think I started listening to Depeche Mode after I developed an unhealthy sexual attraction to my best friend's father in university, who happened to be a fan of this band and drove an expensive European sedan. At the time he seemed dark in a cool never-seen-before way and DM will always symbolize dark sexual fetishes to me. It's good music to sin to for sure, almost like a more restrained NIN.
