All Gojira are awesome imo but I think The Link is very underated here. Prob my 3rd Gojira.
It feels very tribal. T/track, rememberance, I Embrace the World are fucking awesome top tier Gojira imo
Its peculiar production gives you that sensation of the Amazonic forest. Dry and humid at once lol brilliant and unique album that shouldn t be dismissed.

there is no objective explanation I can give - I just like the sound of these few tracks and find it very unique while I tend to find their usual sound a bit grating. I come back and try them again pretty regularly, though.

I'd agree with you, just, but yeah this is seriously, stupidly good. One of the only albums from my oh-so-particular listening period circa 2012 that still floors me, beating out the company of BTBAM, SikTh and Mars Volta to name a few
I will never, ever tire of the last minute or so of Backbone and if I ever do I give the world permission to pop a bolt in the back of my head as it's obviously going downhill from there
