Siamese Dream just has all you could ever love about the Pumpkins. Gish and Mellon Collie are both excellent albums as well, but nothing Corgan ever done could top or will top Siamese Dream.

Siamese Dream is a definitive 90s alt rock record, encapsulating the times and expanding boundaries by delivering amazing tunes.

Prices Iscariot is a continuation of the sound with a collection of quality b-sides and rarities. Then this came out and it was a bloated ego fest with the odd moment that stayed true but had no groove.

Well, I guess all Pumpkins albums were a parade of Billy's huge ego anyway. Siamese Dream just sounded perfect because it was so personal for him, and yet all the outcasts and misfits of the world, then and now, heard it and related so strongly to it that it stood the test of time.

Both are amazing in their own ways, both hard 5's.

i dont get how this sounds like it is any more ego-ridden than siamese dream, or any pumpkins record. How can an album be bad because someone's ego is too big? Plus, how can you even tell if that is the case? All I hear are genuine songs on this album. The only pumpkins album where you could say that Billy was ego-ing way too hard was the machina albums. But... he was doing that on purpose as part of a concept double album. The band would play themselves but an exaggerated version of how the mainstream media portrays them. So Billy was an ego maniac and all that jazz. But as far as mellon collie and whatnot goes, i dont really understand that argument. Especially Adore. If that aint personal, i dont know what is. Plus, from a lyrical standpoint, siamese dream and gish are by far his worst pre-breakup works. "Life's a bummer when you're a hummer"

Iha wrote Mayonaise, which is the most perfect song ever, so...

Iha contributed a bit to the guitar line of Mayonaise and not much else if Corgan is to be believed

I think Iha plays that picking pattern in the intro, while Corgan does the little solo over it.

Iha only wthat that appregiation at the beginning of mayonnaise. But I'm not saying James is a bad songwriter, a lot of his work on machina 2 and Aeroplane is fantastic

I fear that I am ordinary, just like everyone...

My favorite lyric here, and Muzzle is one of my favorite tunes as well.

Adore by an absolute mile, though some folks can't cope with the sad-synths and lack of guitars
