yeah it took me maybe five years to realize that was a breakup song. i mean I was like 13 the first time I heard it, but still. makes me wonder if the music was written first, completely unrelated to the theme of what the song would later be about, and then dave wrote lyrics about something he was feeling in the moment, which happened to be a breakup.

I would honestly vouch for Coroner's Mental Vortex and Death's Symbolic; they don't sound identical to THIS, but they do mix speed, technicality, and groovy AF riffs flawlessly
