"irresistible" is such a good name for a song on a metal album

I sat out in the sun today and closed my eyes. It made me think of this album.

Driving through a wealthy neighborhood on a sunny day makes me think of the title track.

S/t is the best track on here, followed by Vertigo, sorry Dream House and Pecan Tree fans.

I think it's sure to say that Pecan Tree it's my favorite song from this guys, the feels are so real on that one

Pecan Tree's biggest flaw is the fade out at the end, weakest way to end this album.

I've never felt that way about it, i think is fine really

I agree with Tronald on the ending. Fade outs can be great but I prefer the way they do it live.

i don't mind the ending, but i think the first like 45 seconds are the most euphoric feelsy thing i've ever heard in (post-)black metal

The part at the beginning of the song, 1:23 to 2:06, is the best eargasm on the album for me. The 'sour' quality on the guitars is incredible, Vertigo had them too.

Yeah there is some interesting harmonics in that section. I wish I knew more theory so I could break down why it works so well.

I also think the first 45 seconds of PT sound very similar to the first 30 seconds of envy's Unrepairable Gentleness, a song released 10 years before PT, and would sound just as euphoric if envy employed shoegaze on it.

PT to me it's anything but euphoric, quite the opposite, melancholic sounding with a sense of giving up and accepting outcomes no matter how awful they are

I've found this in some interview with Clarke:
"That song deals with the relationship that I have with my father and his side of the family, which in turn also deals with his relationship with them. It also has to do with my grandmother. They have a house in Mississippi with this huge pecan tree, which is exactly the same every year. My grandmother would make a million things with these pecans, and everyone would hang out on the porch by this tree. It represents this eternal symbol, this thing that's always going to be there and will constantly remind me of those times."
