Still playing this constantly. It only gets better with more listens. Doberman was the last song to completely click for me. This is Deafheaven's best work in my opinion.

Solid album but man these guys are so overrated. The production is kinda muddy and flaccid. Decent though.

La Fin Du Monde is the best beer on the planet, good job Canada for knowing how to make a proper Belgian tripel.

A good Belgian dubbel or trippel is quite the treat. Not a lot of breweries in my area make them because they're not super popular. But nothing beats a solid porter or stout.

Canadian here, Unibroue beers are extremely overrated. They all taste the same. If you want a good Canadian beer, try Ashton or Beau's.

Idk man, I just don’t get the flavor profile from a hazy citrus IPA anywhere else. It’s not what I drink the most often, because I don’t always need that much complexity, but like, sweet, sour, and bitter flavors that balanced is not really replicated elsewhere in the beer world.

I do also love stouts and porters. I lean toward porters by a bit maybe. But like yeah, I’ve still probably drank more Miller Lite than anything else in my life, and I’m not above it at this point in my life either. Balance and shit. Also, you’re all music snobs. There’s no need to judge beer snobs lol.

I drink porters more often than stouts, both can be great but I'm not overly partial to the really sweet ones. I like eating cheesecake, not drinking one ta.

I'll lower myself (lul) to drinking a standard affair blonde or basic bitch local cask pale if there's nothing more "refined" on offer, but I draw the line at glorified fizzy water

Some IPAs definitely over-do the whole citrus hop bomb thing, but a nicely balanced one is still my go-to. I've had a huge variety by this point and many contain flavours not often associated with that style. I'd also rather find a strong, complex flavour at a lower ABV than reach for the double / triple IPAs that can be a) overpowering and b) unnecessarily un-quaffable. I mean don't get me wrong I like wine too, but IPAs don't need to be anywhere near that strength to be enjoyable, lol

IPAs blow. [2] the most offensive thing about them tho is they took over half the offerings at basically every brewery

I admire those who can consume stouts or porters in large quantities, my microbiome just can’t handle it, I get in constant danger of spontaneous combustion. Once in a while I try my luck, but I’m happy only if they don’t have a dominant coffee or caramel flavor.

I have 2 or 3 breweries in my town and they normally only have a 2-3 IPAs out of 10 or so beers on tap. I think IPAs as a mandatory choice at local breweries is no longer a thing. That said, if I go to a brewery, I’m probably getting an IPA. Specifically citrus and hopefully hazy.

I just checked btw, because I was actually curious. My town’s go to brewery has 13 beers on tap atm and only 3 of them are IPAs.

It's hit-and-miss in my area: some breweries have a raging hard-on for IPAs and others are more balanced. I always find myself at the latter if I go out for a pint or two. But it's getting more and more expensive to do so, which is a bummer. I can't justify $14+ for two glasses of beer anymore.
