yup yup

I think this has higher highs but lower lows. Gratitude and Looks Like Nothing might literally be my 2 favorite tracks they’ve ever made.

I still don't even buy that this has lows

Dead Cat is creepy af and Cleaning is heartwrenching

Dead Cat, Dead Internet, and Cry Baby are worse than everything on NMG, Cleaning is wonderful tho.

Might be sacrilege but I also think Spit is one of the weaker tracks, still a great tune but Secret History and Hell 99 are just such an insane way to open the record and it just makes Spit feel kinda tame in comparison.

spit is much better than both yeah. one of the only like five songs i still hit on this

also dead cat is still awful, if anything more than before. my least favorite song by this band

I think Dead Cat is fine but I’m also very much gay as hell for Conor.

Spit is vastly preferable to the opening pair fr [2] sounds closest to the DDTM sound out of everything here, but it holds up pretty well under all the eyeshadow and black hoodies they put on it

I can see the argument for Hell 99, I can totally see why you wouldn’t like it Johnny… but god damn Secret History is fucking amazing. Pretty easily my favorite opening track that they’ve done

Do you not like 737 either? I feel like Secret History is just that song turned up to 11.

Secret History is a cool intro and a kinda-okay song imo — would have worked perfectly if they'd wound it down and out after the first chorus/skrem/whatever, but the way they make it repeat itself = palpable diminishing returns with its own runtime. Don't hit me with that jump scare twice -_-
737 is alright ig, opposite phenom where it's much better standalone song than it is an album opener (for DDTM specifically at least, does not feel like the start of the record that one turns out to be)

Yeah that’s for sure the weirdest thing about DDTM, the opener and closer are great tracks but they absolutely feel like they belong on a completely different record. Still love the album but it is for sure a little jarring.

yeah i just pretend crown candy doesnt exist and replace it with speak with the dead boom turns nearer my god into a top 10er oat instead of a top 20er

grand paradise is my favorite opener for sure, nothin hits like that first SHOCK COLLARED AT THE GATES OF HEAVEN drop. kind of agree that secret history is a better opener than it is a song/737 vice versa, but grand paradise functions effectively as both for me

they really perfected opening their albums with some tight shit since NMG huh.

Bloodhound and Weave are fine I guess for setting the vibe for those records, but god damn Grand Paradise, 737, and Secret History are just fucking miles ahead.

I think the drop on 737 just barely edges out Grand Paradise because it was just so unexpected. My fucking jaw was on the floor when I jammed that record for the first time. 737 was my favorite Foxing song for a couple of years

Still need to do my Foxing songs ranked list but in terms of openers I'd go Secret History, Grand Paradise, 737, Bloodhound, Weave.

1. Gratitude

2. Looks Like Nothing

3. Greyhound

4. Hell 99

5. Secret History

15,609 mins and in the top .005%

Ngl, if Greyhound and Hell 99 weren’t singles it probably would’ve been something else from that record. I listened to Greyhound almost every day before the record dropped

Wildcard, you made me curious and I did some crude math with their monthly listeners, and that makes you basically 1 in 10 top listeners lmao
