It's always about Iommi's riffs when it comes to MoR, the lyrics aren't a big deal there imo

Weed sucks but that song riffs hard. I dunno, when Ozzy sings "I love you sweet leaf, though you can't hear" it sounds like purposeful irony. I'm sure he was tripping daily but still sounds like a little self-mockery. The rest of the album does have better lyrics though.

How can someone say the lyrics in Sweet Leaf hold it back from being a great song and then not say that about After Forever? Now those are some terrible lyrics. After Forever is easily the weakest proper song on MoR.

There's a clear dope > religion bias these days but After Forever's lyrics aren't nearly as banal as Sweet Leaf for its said topic. Imagine if you changed "sweet leaf" to "Jesus" and you'll understand.
