I'm not curious about the sound quality of the lossy/lossless format. I'm just curious about how lossy the compression algorithms on spotify and youtube are, whether it is enough to affect the experience or not.



I'm assuming that on this album the cleans have been heavily processed for brendan sucks at singing. so the cleans became fragile in their digital sources already. And these signals may have a hard time staying stable in the compression algorithm of spotify/youtube. This would lead directly to a situation where, on a physical copy, it would be OK, but on spotify it would be terrible. (This is my hypothesis, I don't know if it's true)

Man, I used to be so into metalcore, and I was eager for this album to maybe get me back into it. And I can recognize how good this is for the genre, but I'm just...bored. Which bums me out.

The highest resolution on spotify is really the best when it comes to streaming (edit: proved wrong lol), 99% of records I don't care about the sound quality but those 1% I do care then I take it seriously, in fact when taken seriously the human ear can hear the difference between lossless and high sample rate mp3s, I definitely can with the help of some in-ear monitor.
