okay I'll help out, it's when someone makes an attempt at being witty or funny but really just ends up blowing a bunch of hot air such that there is the appearance of wit or humour but none of the substance, hence a "pseudo-witticism". Like if I were to call Sitar an "amateur grammar vigilante woodtouching over the sanctity of what things are *supposed* to mean"", the impression is that I've give him a w-w-witty insult(!), when really I've just substituted 'woodtouching' for 'someone who knocks on wood' to a) be intentionally confusing and b) just to sound intelligent, both of which are, of course, hallmarks of pseudo-wit, any other questions should be directed to johnny's inbox
