So many to choose from. The first explosion in Triassic shakes my bones, but I've been spinning Miocene | Pliocene recently.

Where do I start with this band?

I started with Phanerozoic I, specifically the track Devonian: Nascent, however, I did check out the album Pelagial a bit prior to that and it didnt entirely click with me. I am going to go out on a limb and say Jurassic: Cretacious would be an equally as good introduction as my aforementioned suggestion.

the band has three pretty distinct phases. Fluxion/Aeolian/Precambrian were the "Collective" and had a very post-metal/sludge/hardcore sound with classical accompaniments. Heliocentric/Anthropocentric are transition albums where Loic was new and they were finding stability as a band but got a little bogged down in conceptual stuff. Pelagial and Phan I/II really find them flourishing again with more prog elements and Loic sounding awesome.

tl;dr start with the last three and explore from there.

Over the past few years, these fellows have probably become a top 5 active artist for me. Love their development.

They've been top-10 since 2010 for me, but the last three have really solidified their place in my pantheon.
