not a big fan much of any Kurt’s newer stuff from the last several years but it’s probably more those bands’ fault than his. still a lot of the time he just sounds like he’s wallowing in the same key on much of it with not really any good hooks.

I don’t really care much to discuss live performances.

favs are Lyrics Lie, C Global, Born to Fail, Say hi, Nothing shameful, everything else is standard DGD, gets repetitive especially in that middle stretch of songs

also Wells totally stole the show with his one featured spot, easily most memorable and best part of the album

Nothing Shameful is the clear standout. i wish that were just the standard for them.

The chorus in Say Hi sounds uninspired after multiple listens. despite that, the song is indeed stupid good. some of the best Mess we've ever gotten

I don’t really like Andrew Wells. butt rock vibes abound.

Spotify has One In A Million, Lyrics Lie, and Parody Catharsis as most popular DGD tracks. Can’t say I disagree. They have a crazy amount of listeners now.

i like his features but tbh i think they're a bit pointless since they've only really utilized his lower register. nothing that I can't see Tilian doing himself. i do love him in Eidola though.

Wells was good on Evaporate, his feature here does nothing for me tho

At least Nothing Shameful is good. Evaporate is really bad especially the ending.

Evaporate is one of the best songs of their current iteration and the ending is really perfect love letter to the fans

And you can’t change my mind

that generic breakdown thing was already the low point of Deathstar back in 2008. and the vocal motif idea isn’t good or earned. but even that part is better than the song’s chorus.

that being said, the features don't detract from anything so it's fine.

and yeah, I'm kinda with you eat. Evaporate is pretty overrated. definitely not bad imo but not great minus the absolutely stellar first 10 seconds of mess
