I’d say Open Water and Lost Continent are the two standouts, but yeah, everything is good and kinda washes over you. Night Diving is awesome also.

The Flame Deluge is the unrecognized GOAT of that EP imo. Absolutely crushing

Fire is just one massive standout track. Messenger makes me want to run through a wall.
Water has *two* standout tracks: Night Diving, and the Whaler. If anybody tells you they don't like The Whaler, they're a cop.

yeah The Whaler is like top 5 Thrice songs imo

TAI is the complete antithesis to this. it's heartfelt, authentic, sincere, compassionate. this sounds like a bot wrote and composed it. it's entirely soulless. how? just how is that possibly the exact same band?

Hopefully Palms is to Thrice as Cope was to Manchester Orchestra and they come back with an absolute world-killer of a record.

Night Diving is Thrice going full-on Isis, which is really, REEEAAAAALLLLY more along the lines of what I was wanting post alchemy index. Instead we got a barrage of pretty good alt rock albums (aside fro Palms, which is bad).

Alright, but only because everyone was asking:
1. Water — Just beautiful, stunning and serene. Some of their finest work. (4.5)
2. Fire — Firebreather is in my top five Thrice songs so that elevates this a bit for me — but I also love The Messenger and the atmosphere on The Flame Deluge is so great and eerie (4)
3. Air — this is spotty for me and had to grow. Broken Lungs and A Song for Milly are stunning songs and Daedalus is solid (very overrated tho imo — a 3.5 for me — the last minute is great but the rest is a little dull). Don’t care for the other songs much. Silver Wings is so slight and pointless. (3.5)
4. Earth — this isn’t bad by any means, and I love The Earth Isn’t Humming, but I guess the style of music here doesn’t really appeal to my tastes. Tbh I really need to revisit because I only listened twice — a few more spins might help. (3)

I don’t consider The Whaler to be one of the highlights off Water tbh.
Open Water
Lost Continent
Night Diving
Digital Sea
The Whaler
Kings on the Main
Still good though.

I have never liked Fire quite as much as others here for whatever reason. Every song is good and all, but I can't tell you what song is what on it without hearing it first.
Digital Sea, Night Driving, and Whaler are my favorites from Water, but the whole EP is just magnificent.

I saw Thrice last night and seeing a few Palms helped my overall appreciation quite a bit. They still got it and Dustin's definitely screaming again.

I saw them last fall and it was definitely a great show. Some of the Palms tracks did come to life and shine in a live setting.

Beggars is severely underrated here. It's up there with Vheissu as best Thrice for me.
