The soft synth and wispy approach to the 2nd half of Lit Me Up is so delicate, it's incredible.

Never be Heaven is a really beautiful song in my opinion. the subtle instrumentation totally takes the cake with that song

Growing on me - may end up a 4.5. Definitely a lot lower tempo than Daisy which I imagine a lot of people like but Daisy is probably somehow my favourite Brand New album so, wasn't as sold initially. This is definitely a grower.

Oh shit Sputnik actually lets you rate this below 2? Good deal lol.

And honestly, a few songs stand out (Lit Me Up, 137, In The Water) but the rest is kind of just there. I like Desert, and would like Same Teeth/Logic if Jesse wasn't singing about cutting himself and trying to worship Isaac Brock

I think DTAG, Daisy, and Deja will always be above this for me

yeah any album below 4.3 can be 1'd.

probably the stupidest quirk on the site. it used to be that you could only have a certain percentage of your ratings be 5s or 1s. that was a much better anti-troll rating measure imo.

Ah I see, "only have a certain percentage of your ratings be 5s or 1s. that was a much better anti-troll rating measure imo" and yeah I would dig that system.

Dctarga what are you talking about Jesse singing about cutting himself, do you take EVERY lyric you hear at face value. Jesus you're basically those 16 year old girls in the YouTube comments

No it just kind of puts me off.

I'm usually not huge on lyrics unless something seems really out place to me, like that. Same thing happens when Vin comes in with that throw back line in a really weird accent/voice or whatever.

I liked it when the album first came out, but after listing multiple times the negatives seemed to stand out more for some reason.

Yeah, agreed. The 'at the bottom of the ocean...' line makes me cringe so hard I originally deleted the song. eventually, after hearing everyone gush over that song, I went in and edited that part out in audacity in a way that the song still flows well.

sounds like a fucking used car salesman from Texas who fishes during his lunch break. terrible decision
