haven't heard master of reality

I think I worked it into the thread earlier, but my metal experience consists entirely of:

-Classic Metal (not sure what else to call it) -- Metallica

-Black Metal/Folk -- Agalloch

-Progressive -- Opeth mainly

-Hardcore -- Converge

-Math -- Dillinger

...and some shitty metalcore I liked in HS

Excuse me?

Also for some reason I assumed Sowing liked a lot more metal than that but had just grown out of it like most other users should have by now.

sabbath is the go to starting point you'd probably like paranoid more though, master of reality is the seeds of doom metal (i def hear sabbath / doom metal influence in mastodon's music but more-so their earlier stuff than this album)

This isn't wrong, I'm just summarizing my taste in the post above. My most metal phase extended from about 11th grade of HS to junior year of college. Honestly it was Sputnik that brought me out of metal and classic rock and into the indie scene. Also age - people tend to forget I'm 29.

I just make fun of metal because it pissed metalheads off. I'm sure the genre has some good stuff but I'm not in the interest of exploring it.

I have heard (and enjoyed) a couple shoegaze albums that border on metal though.

ofc metal has good stuff my man, there's probably stuff you'd like but it depends on your preferences. It's a vast genre collective.

Haven't heard this but I'm guessing < Remission

"Excuse me?"

Bitch did I stutter?

Side note: What the hell is Boney doing lurking in a Mastodon thread anyway?

Gonna start calling you out in random metal threads to see how often you pop up to respond.

Idk how I was even relevant in that situation - what is it that I can use? An intro to metal?

Tbh I only popped in because I wanted to see what Sowing said

Also I commented earlier itt to say that I checked a couple songs from this and they were shitty.
