"Meshuggah often copied by these garbage djent bands "

Lol. Saying that djent bands are copying Meshuggah and not Periphery is like saying that Greta Van Fleet is actually ripping off Muddy Waters and not Led Zeppelin.

Clearly you missed the sarcasm aimed at the criticism of a particular stylistic choice by a vocalist for his parts as not being able to sing those parts properly. Like I said, it's okay if you don't like a band's music. But the attempted rationalisation of that dislike comes off as pretty dumb.

the 'dear lord' prolly comes from you not understanding how the definition of vocal range doesn't apply to death growls and such, and that spencer does sing normally (?

I get it now but I thought you meant the genre as a whole. Definitely bad eggs in both hardcore and death metal vocalists for sure.

Ok, since you seem hellbent on dying on this hill, tell me which notes in which song is Spencer incapable of singing properly according to you?

"They're only possibly the most influential metal band of the decade."

If that's truly the case, it is indeed an unfortunate state of affairs.

If Spencer could churn out the consistency he did on the track "Scarlet" I would not come down on him that hard. His harsh vocals are still really bad though but cleans on that were for once to me very decent.

I figured. It was aimed at the assumption that the stylistic choices by a vocalist are actually his inability to sing it in a different way.

clearly straining and sounding like a dying cat is most definitely not a stylistic choice

Perhaps you should do a more thorough analysis of what you believe Spencer's actual vocal range is and write him a memo to stay within those thresholds.

I'd write the whole band a memo saying they should disband.

As interesting as it would be to witness just how much worse they could get, I'd say they should just call it.

But you've gotten THIS far! I mean, you've got somewhere between 20 and 50 comments on this thread already. You might as well try and see if he'll pay you for your valuable critique and insight. xD
