I hadn't read the whole thread I just assumed based on what was said by others that a lot of people were trying to justify this album as somehow greater than radio pop. But regardless you were saying that the main critique of the album was that it's mainstream pop which bothered you. And I'm saying, in the same way a lot of people dislike some mainstream pop for legitimate reasons, dislike of this album for those same reasons is fine - people who hate this obviously don't think the parts that you or I find different are worthy of praise thus it becomes shitty radio pop.

describing the sound of an album is by no means defending it
no but desperately trying to convince everybody that this wasn't pop since the very beginning when this came out is defending it (from something I don't know)

no. idk why ur tryna speak for other people and why they like this album lmao but check this out. nobody's saying it's not pop or even radio friendly pop at that, everybody realizes this (at least I hope). in fact I like this because it's streamlined. yall need to chill with this patronizing straw man that people don't even realize why they like this album or are ashamed to admit it's radio friendly
the point being made is that it doesn't really sound like/ripping off anyone in particular as is being insinuated. i mean ur basically making the same point in the bolded part so. you can be different and still be radio friendly you know, and as plane mentioned there are plenty of artists in the top 40 that fit the bill
