I don’t know how to feel but certainly not that! This and To the Bone are his two best solo albums imo

Lyrics on this album are actually pretty good

Even Home Invasion may be the best spin on the eternally recurring "phones bad" theme running through his career

Edit: Oh jeez I forgot I 5'd this. I guess I stand by it

Steven and Ninet’s chemistry on that one is magical

I just feel like this is his most honest record as well.

The problem I have with quite a bit of Wilson's material is how self absorbed it feels.

His lyrics never help as well, but that's mostly always been a problem even with PT.

Everything comes together nicely here, though.

Definitely agree there. This is easily the most emotionally resonant album I've heard from him, and it all just sounds so beautifully organic and natural. That, and the progressive and melodic elements are almost perfectly fused together

Or if you didn't get goosebumps at Guthrie's solo in the middle of the song for that matter

i was talking to the drummer of 3 one time, Chris, and he said they did a supporting gig for PT back in the day and Wilson was a massive DICK, said he acted like they were beneath him. kind of a bummer but at the same time it's what i'd expect lol

Funny that he talked shit about Wilson to a fan, maybe they were quarreling at the time or something.

Agreed with Pleb and Divergent's posts about this being his best and most emotional/honest, with a great balance of progressive and melodic elements.

It doesn't help either that he's constantly touted by 70s prog fans as the "savior" of the genre, which I'm sure feeds into that ego even more. I mean yeah, I really enjoy his work, but going onto Progarchives and seeing constant adulation for him on there gets really obnoxious and annoying after a while
