Sounds like the new one is a continuation of FlyLo's drop in quality from album to album.

I kind of liked it on first impression, it’s probably in the same ballpark as this one at least.

Until the Quiet Comes was like that for me, subtle brilliance.

Flamagra is most definitely an "in-your-face" kind of an affair for the most part, for me at least. The funk influence is very pronounced much like how this took after jazz.

As someone who listens to virtually zero hip-hop with vox, I like the ‘Black Balloons’ track on the new one, ft. Denzel Curry apparently. On a somewhat unrelated note Takashi is awesome.

New album definitely rules, I played it for a second time rather than sticking Deathspell on... so that sort of confirms it.

I only listened to Flamagra once but I liked it a little more than this... I feel like that could change with repeated listens tho, as they're both pretty dense and I haven't heard this one enough times yet either.

it's not good imo. was hoping I'd change my mind but feels like he threw together some soundtrack stuff and a few years worth of collabs with some vague concept about fire and called it a day. you could easily sequence a killer 35-minute album out of the highlights and put the rest out on an EP like he used to, but as one piece of art? just getting through the first half-hour is a massive struggle, and Yellow Belly is fucking awful
