That riff 2 minutes and 40 seconds in to Strangest Thing is so good

When I don't feel like listening to Dire Straits, I listen to this

This is at least as good as anything Dire Straits ever did

Dire Straits' self-titled along with Tunnel Of Love are two of my favorite albums, classic band. That being said, I think the comparisons between The War On Drugs and Dire Straits are a tad overblown, there's clearly influences but they also have different sounds.

I think it's kinda like how when you listen to The Gaslight Anthem you might think "these guys sound like Springsteen" but then if you really think about it there aren't that many TGA songs that sound like Springsteen songs. They just give off a similar "vibe" at first for lack of a better word

Yeah, that's definitely a fair point. TGA have a lot of lyrical similarities with Springsteen too, but musically they don't really sound alike.

Disappearing could be 10 minutes long and I don't think I'd care

I was watching Jon Bois' video on Lonnie Smith (which by the way is fucking incredible) and I almost died of happiness when I realised he was using Disappearing during a certain section

new song so far sounds like the soundtrack to a DIY crafting video, or a chocolate brownie recipe on buzzfeed or something
