I can't decide which is worse: this, or SC.

Post 6-Degrees, well, TOT is mostly shit except the two final songs which are fucking awesome,
Octavarium is awesome but a little incoherent, SC is utter shit (In the Presence of Enemies is great
but rest is complete garbage), BC&SL is uninspired (except The Count of Tuscany), ADTOE is almost
flawless and extremely inspired and s/t is their worst ever. So yeah, post-6 degrees I'd say
Octavarium or ADTOE

Dude, you couldn't be more wrong about ToT and BC&SL. What about Endless Sacrifice? Beautiful lyrics in that. Also, whilst A Nightmare To Remember has a weak second half, 2/3rds of it is very well done especially the quieter part

A Nightmare to Remember has a lot of awesome ideas, but they're put together in such an incoherent way... And yeah, Endless Sacrifice is great too; actually, most ToT is great, but as a whole it feels a little redundant.

Yeah that sounds just about right. The changes are far too abrupt in Nightmare and the weak tracks, Honor Thy Father and This Dying Soul really bring down the quality of ToT

I consider As I Am a weak track too, but yeah ToT is overall very good nonetheless. At the moment I'm rejamming the s/t, and I just realized the most solid tracks are the two "ballads", The Bigger Picture and Along for the Ride. The rest is pretty much bland and uninspired, except maybe Surrender to Reason and some moments of Behind the Veil.

The Enemy Inside and Behind The Veil have decent moments. Other than that, this is so so weak

Enemy Inside is one of the worst on here

Bad chorus, but everything else is alright

PAIN IS REAL LIKE A CUT THAT BLEEDS lol dream theater lyrics
|

nah its all bad
the only tracks on here that are better than 2.5 (i.e. tracks that are good) are Looking Glass and Behind the Veil. Surrender to Reason is ok Illumination Theory is ok. the rest are meh to bad.

The chorus is actually the best part of the song. The wankery is the worst part, so distasteful now

Looking Glass is very enjoyable yeah. This album doesn't feel as meticulously done as the last few and the band feel like they're letting a little loose, but still there aren't enough interesting moments

It's been distasteful ever since Octavarium

This was just posted, and I have to say I think I almost completely agree

TOT and Octavarium are miles ahead of BCSL, I prefer SC as well
Jesus, Omair. You really are crazy.
Black clouds is probably their best since 6Deg [2]
Could get rid of the word "probably".

Panic Attack as 4? Really? I'd put 3 or 4 of the songs from that in my top 10. The Enemy Inside and The Dark Eternal Night as an honourable mention? nah. They got 1 right at least.
CKN does it better in my opinion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA6Dw_TlASw

Why the hate for SC? It may be wankery, but it's enjoyable wankery... And also, ''In the Presence of Enemies'' and ''Dark Eternal Night'', are really decent songs...

Yeah but the awful tracks really do bring them down, like Prophets of War and Forsaken

In the Presence of Enemies, Repentance (the last repetitive section gets annoying) and Ministry are good songs. I enjoy Constant Motion as well
