Yeah the new one isn’t a new one at all, recorded in 2002 for the Reykjavik arts festival or something. Something to do with an Icelandic poem...

I kind of like it.

If you just want to hear Jonsi’s angelic tones then I don’t recommend it, they’re comparatively fleeting and unfortunately represent many of the least interesting moments musically.
Regardless of that it does include a few wonderful passages.

Yet another average side-project release, like the 6th one in the past three years lol. They seem to enjoy doing everything with their time except make a new album. I'd think they were trolling us if not for having lost two longtime band members since this dropped.

It certainly isn’t average, just not necessarily what I would desire from Sigur Ros. As an aside it has something going for it. It’s unlikely to satisfy any fans wanting new original material from these guys though.

It's a little above average. Certainly better than Shiver by Jonsi. I think Route One is my favorite since Kveikur, nice to hear them go full ambient.

"nice to hear them go full ambient."
if that means jonsi doesn't sing then this is definitely an improvement

heard this several times and i still don't know how i feel about it
it's got a lot of great ideas and new territory sonically, but i don't feel any real flow between the tracks like with any of their better albums. it's hard to make an opinion of it overall bc it just doesn't feel that cohesive, which is difficult for the style these guys embrace
|
| |
the one album i have of theirs I can't rate cuz it's never been added to the database

you guys think i would like this?

Yeah, it really is a shame that the album Kveikur by Sigur Ros isn't in the Sputnikmusic database so that Storm in a Teacup can rate it.

It's called Petta er island.

add that bitch to the data base

the 3 times i jammed this last night i thought it was remarkably consistent and flowed tremendously
id still say their big 3 are better than this but its a very very solid 4th and more even in quality w those records than id anticipated

Amazing album here. I have a soft spot for it, since it was my introduction to SR

Yeah this flows pretty much impeccably for me. I can’t place it above Agaetis, yet these days I probably could give it the edge over the ‘other 2’. It’s very close anyway, ( ) is amazing and been a fave for a long-time now.

takk is my top personally i love how bright and shimmery it is. i probably prefer agaetis to ( ) but i havent jammed the latter as much as the other two recently and ( ) seems like a record that deserves more patience
