Is Ghostlights more diverse than its three precursors? It's the only one I still haven't given a proper go, since I reckoned it'd be nothing new

Well, it's definitely an Avantasia record, but I'd say it's a step above the norm.
Prob wouldn't like it if you're not a big fan to begin with but maybe it'll surprise you

Yeah it's definitely more typical of recent Avantasia, so don't expect Metal Opera I or II.
Just better.

I like my fair share of power metal/hard rock (whatever you want to call what they do right now) if it's done right, so I'll definitely give it a try soon. Just being catchy isn't enough to carry a whole album for me in most of the cases though, so I'm keeping my expectations kinda low
edit from months later: Ghostlights was pretty great btw, exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. Nothing too special, but it has some really good songs.
