Such a great EP. I really enjoy the huge number of polyrhythms scattered everywhere in this album. The composition and production are top-notch.

A full album of this would be my favorite Glassjaw release for sure.

They change their style so much between each release that they're kind of hard to compare

yeah they really put together a solid collection of songs here like they never had before. the way the quarter note of black nurse carries over on the snare in the first half of the gold groove while the tempo drops to what would have been a slow triplet in black nurse is one of those things that floors me every time. i just think they took the time to really build these tracks from the ground up and it worked really well.

I got into this way before I got into Worship and Tribute. In fact, I'd say I like this more now that I think about it.

I can see why someone would think that though

These have more of a... idk, out there feel?

The older ones gave the impression of sloppiness when they in fact were not, it was kinda part of the
charm, these are more... I don't know what's the word I want

The old songs were quirkier and were also very well written, but everything on this, from the technical wizardry and the flow of the album to the choice of guitar tones, reeks of a band that's fine-tuned its craft to a much higher level.

more of this style would be cool but i wouldn't hold my breath for any new shit from them at all, let alone in this vein.

That's ok, but their older was much more passionate and emotionally potent, plus I dig the weirdness that they had

But I know that from an artistic stand point, they have to move on, so i'm fine if they keep going through this route, but the older one will probably always come out on top for me.
